Halloween in London With Kids 2026

Halloween falls on Saturday 31 October 2026, the last weekend of half term. Pick by scare level first — then by age, budget and area.

📅 Saturday 31 October 2026

The question parents actually ask about Halloween isn't "what's on?" — it's "how scary is it?"

So we've sorted London's family Halloween events by scare level first: gentle Halloween for toddlers, not scary, moderately spooky, and brave older kids. Then filter by what you want — pumpkin picking, trails, shows, free, under £20, after dark, indoor or outdoor. Every pick links to a full listing with dates, prices and booking details.

Halloween at Kew: which session should you book?

16 October – 1 November

Kew's Halloween experience runs three session types with increasing scare levels — choosing the right one matters more than the date.

  • Daylight — the gentlest option. Best for toddlers and younger primary-age kids who want the Halloween fun without the dark.
  • Twilight — spookier as the light fades. A good middle ground for 5–10 year olds who like a little shiver.
  • Moonlight — the scariest session, for brave older kids and teens.

Not sure? Book Daylight for under-5s and Twilight for most 6–9s. See Halloween at Kew details

Only want Kew without the spooky bit? Hey Duggee at Kew runs 17 October–1 November for ages 3–7.

Pumpkin picking near London

Pumpkin season is here. Several of the farms in our Farms Near London guide run pick-your-own pumpkin patches in October — Tulleys Farm is the best known, with others including Willows Farm and Cammas Hall. Check each farm's website for PYO dates, as patches can close early once pumpkins run out.

Staying in town? Try Pumpkin & Botanical Printing at the Garden Museum.
